UK sludgegrind crust punks GORGONCHRIST continue to take their grimly, sardonic view of the ludicrous world we have created, as they channel their ethos in their next colossal out put-the aptly titled ‘And Justice For Balls’
Nothing is safe as Gorgonchrist tear strips off humanity’s failings and tackle all manner of subjects-all with their customary disdain and ridicule. They hold firm on their stance that none of it is funny and rather maintain a view that utter despair and sardonic diversion are, in psychological terms, not that far apart. Ripping through ferocious tracks such as‘Toaster Inferno’, ‘I Cum Brûlée’ and‘ The Dragon’s Treasure’, Gorgonchrist also continue their ‘Questions From A Victorian Mortuary’ series, and successfully manage to weave some serious truths into ironic and comical lyrics throughout. ‘And Justice For Balls’ is only, by name, attempting to pay homage to the seminal album that bears an almost identical title. Yet, like the reckless and non-conformist approach of THAT album, Gorgonchrist aim to tackle the ‘justice’ of the meat industry and the effects of feeding an ever-growing population, the ‘justice’ of the trans movement and the blurring of the sexes, the ‘justice’ for those with balls who care about societal issues and those who abuse them, as well as having a good laugh, in the absence of anything else, at the gigantic mess mankind can make of things.
